We started ISR lessons with my daughter when she was 2 years old. After attending a local well-known swim school, the results she saw in 6 weeks with Sheila were night and day. Sheila is an amazing instructor. She understands the mechanics of swimming and how it applies to the development of each child at every stage. She somehow remembers each of my 3 children and where they are developmentally and makes recommendations and suggestions, but still asks for our input. We feel like we serve an active role in our children's acquisition of ISR skills. I've recommended that many people check into ISR and Sheila if they are in the area.

We finished round 1 of ISR with Gem City Swim, LLC recently ! It's been incredible to watch our 14 month old progress from where he started to floating. Sheila is knowledgeable and has a compassionate, gentle way of meeting each child and family where they are and tailoring lessons to them. She genuinely cares about the whole well-being of each child. She openly communicates and intentionally works to create a community of support. Her facility is very clean. So glad we chose Mrs. Sheila/Gem City Swim to help us instill lifelong, life saving skills at a young age.
If you have a young child in the Greater Dayton area, I highly recommend getting on her waitlist.

There's not enough time or words to describe our love for Ms. Shelia!! Our kids have been in swim lessons since they were 6 months old and never learned to swim, until we found Shelia, almost 2 years ago. Our son and middle daughter's confidence was so low, after just a couple of weeks their confidence soared! Our son was swimming all over the pool by the end of last summer and our middle daughter was swimming farther distances. Our youngest is just now 14 months and it amazes me watching her with each lesson how much she is learning and how much she is swimming. Safety was our number one concern and I am truly confident if something happened our kids would know exactly what to do!! You couldn't have a better swim instructor than Ms Shelia!

Ms Shelia is amazing at what she does. I was so skeptical about the process and I sure of my mommy heart could handle it but she was SO loving with my daughter and treated her as my own. I had to trust the process and I am so impressed with my daughters ability now. She is truly a live saver I highly recommend Gem City Swim! It’s with every penny!
